November 16, 2020 (McLean, VA) CrossCountry Consulting, a leading business advisory firm, today announced that Bob Michaels has been appointed as the firm’s National Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Lead, effective immediately.

With a talent for assisting public and private companies with a broad range of complex technical accounting and financial reporting challenges, Mr. Michaels will be responsible for strategy, client delivery, and practice and business development.

As a prior Global Assurance Partner at Ernst & Young with more than 20 years of experience across multiple industries, Mr. Michaels is a trusted advisor who works directly with CFOs and CEOs, providing insights to transform finance functions, and navigate complex mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and risk management opportunities across all risk types to enable clients to better prepare and respond to the ever-evolving capital markets landscape. His extensive experience will further accelerate the growth of CrossCountry’s Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting service offering. The firm regularly assists CFOs, controllers and their organizations anticipate and respond to accounting changes, increased financial reporting, new accounting standards, and transaction-related demands.

Mr. Michaels has spent over 20 years with Ernst & Young, most recently as a Partner in their Assurance Services practice where he served a broad range of companies – from midmarket private to Fortune 100 public – and has gained extensive experience in resolving complex accounting and auditing issues. He also served as a member of Ernst & Young’s national Professional Practice Group, which included providing audit teams guidance and training to help deliver high-quality audits firmwide and support them through internal and external inspections.
