October brought a variety of opportunities for our employees to learn, connect, and celebrate the perspectives that make our community stronger. From professional development and cybersecurity awareness to cultural celebrations and conversations about accessibility, the month reflected our ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to grow.
Investing in Growth: Learning & Development Month
Learning is a continuous journey, and throughout October, we celebrated Learning & Development (L&D) Month by highlighting the importance of curiosity, skill-building, and professional growth.
Employees received helpful tips, resources, and information throughout the month, encouraging them to explore new learning opportunities, strengthen existing capabilities, and take an active role in their development.
The celebration reinforced our belief that investing in our people is essential to building a culture of continuous improvement and shared success.
Staying Informed: Cybersecurity Awareness Month
As technology continues to shape how we work, cybersecurity awareness remains essential to protecting our people, clients, and organization.
In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we highlighted the importance of digital responsibility, vigilance, and safe online practices.
The observance served as a reminder that maintaining a secure digital environment is a shared responsibility, and that informed employees play an important role in protecting our workplace.
Celebrating Culture: Hispanic Heritage Month
Culture and connection took center stage as our Bringing Out Latinx Diversity (BOLD) Community Resource Group (CRG) led celebrations honoring Hispanic Heritage Month.
Across our offices, colleagues gathered for celebratory lunches, creating opportunities to connect over food, conversation, and an appreciation for Hispanic and Latino cultures.
The festivities continued with a firmwide virtual game of Lotería, bringing employees together for an engaging experience filled with cultural learning, friendly competition, and camaraderie.
These celebrations highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and the meaningful role our CRGs play in strengthening connections and fostering a sense of belonging across the firm.
Building Empathy: National Disability Employment Awareness Month
October also marked National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), an opportunity to recognize the contributions of employees with disabilities and deepen our understanding of accessibility and inclusion.
To commemorate, we hosted a firmwide event featuring an AI-powered situational simulator that introduced employees to scenarios illustrating challenges that individuals with different disabilities may encounter.
Through this interactive experience, participants explored perspectives, theories, and frameworks designed to strengthen empathy, challenge assumptions, and encourage a more thoughtful approach to interacting with people whose experiences may differ from their own.
While simulations cannot fully replicate lived experiences, the event provided a valuable opportunity for reflection and reinforced the importance of understanding, accessibility, and compassion in building an inclusive workplace.
Continuing the Momentum
Although each celebration focused on a different theme, they shared a common purpose: creating opportunities to broaden perspectives, encourage growth, and strengthen our community.
Together, these initiatives reflected the values that shape our culture and our commitment to delivering A Better Experience for our people, clients, and communities.
As we look ahead, we’ll continue creating meaningful opportunities to learn from one another, celebrate our differences, and build a workplace where everyone can thrive.
