Heather Stewart is a Partner at CrossCountry Consulting in our San Francisco office. She helps organizations achieve sustainable growth by developing and transforming business and financial processes to support scale, implementing new systems, and recognizing and responding to risk. Heather has over 25 years of experience advising public and private companies including serving as the Chief Audit Executive of a $5B company and a former partner of a Big Four professional services firm. Her specialties include process transformation, IPO readiness, IT strategy, systems evaluation & selection, ERP implementation, Internal Audit, risk assessment, Enterprise Risk Management, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, and cybersecurity.
Prior to joining CrossCountry, Heather served as the Regional Managing Partner at BDO USA where she was responsible for all facets of the Advisory and IT Assurance practices in the West region. In addition, Heather was the Vice President of Finance, Chief Audit Executive for Levi Strauss & Co where she was responsible for overseeing all audit and SOX activities in the worldwide Internal Audit function covering 110 countries. Prior to Levi’s, she served as a Partner at KPMG leading the West region’s ERP Advisory practice as well as helping clients drive value from their Internal Audit functions and optimize SOX functions.
Heather received her Bachelor of Science and MBA in Accounting from Missouri State University. She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and is Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA). She currently serves as Audit Committee chair for St. Anthony’s Foundation and Treasurer for the local Cub Scouts pack.
