(McLean, VA) CrossCountry Consulting partnered with Junior Achievement (JA) of Greater Washington to bring financial education into area K-12 classrooms.  CrossCountry team members participated in the annual Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon, raising nearly $3,300 to help support financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship education for Washington, D.C. area schools.

The 2014 JA Bowl-A-Thon marks the third year CrossCountry employees have supported the nationwide event.  This year, CrossCountry enrolled five teams totaling 22 bowlers.  In 2013, CrossCountry’s team of bowlers raised more than $2,900.  One hundred percent of the proceeds from the JA Bowl-A-Thon will be used to help JA to reach 114,000 students during the 2013-14 school year.

“Giving back to the community is an important part of the CrossCountry culture,” said CrossCountry Community Service Sponsor Blake Rushing.  Rushing added, “Junior Achievement positively impacts the lives of today’s teens by providing financial literacy skills.  As a firm with a unique focus of providing accounting and finance solutions to our clients, CrossCountry understands the importance of empowering the next generation to own their economic success.”

Junior Achievement is one of the world’s largest organizations dedicated to preparing young people to thrive in the 21st century workplace.  Utilizing experiential learning to inspire kids to dream big and reach their potential, this year, over 53,000 students in Greater Washington will participate in Junior Achievement programs.
